Love`s in the air for grieving Liam
WIDOWED film star LIAM NEESON dines out with a new lady friend - 20 months after wife NATASHA RICHARDSON`s death.
The A-Team actor, 58, looked blissfully happy as he shared an intimate meal with French air stewardess LESLIE SLATER, who he met on a flight to Paris six weeks ago.
She was then seen entering his apartment block, leaving at 4am.
Their date came just a month after the star was spotted hand-in-hand with 36-year-old British businesswoman FREYA ST JOHNSTON.
Liam and Leslie, who was dressed casually in figure-hugging jeans, spent two hours together in a swish Manhattan eaterie.
Onlookers said they had eyes only for each other - regularly nuzzling in close. One diner said: "It was clear Liam was very anxious for the lady to turn up because he looked so nervous.
"He sat at the very back of the restaurant and constantly scanned each arrival. When his date arrived they gave each other a big hug and kiss.
"Then for the next couple of hours they barely touched their food as they laughed and talked and stared into each other`s eyes."
The diner added: "When the lady went to the toilet, Liam beckoned over the waiter to pay the bill. They carried on chatting and then finally got up to leave, with Liam helping the lady with her sweater.
"Then, even from inside the restaurant, you could see them heading over to his apartment block."
Leslie, believed to be 46, went back to the Novotel in Times Square in the early hours, before re-emerging for her second planned meeting with the Hollywood star in as many days.
She flew home to Paris last night. A friend said: "Leslie`s been going on about Liam for weeks and he texts her all the time.
"They get on really well and, due to her work, she travels extensively and can get about easily. She agreed to see him in New York and they went out together a few times.
"Liam seems to really like her."
Liam lives in the city with sons Michael, 15, and Daniel, 14.
He was left devastated when Natasha - a member of the Redgrave acting dynasty - died after a skiing accident at the Mont Tremblant Resort in Quebec, Canada.
She was flown to hospital in New York but died two days later.
The couple`s 15-year marriage had been considered one of the strongest in showbusiness.
Liam left a film set to be with her after her fall, then faced the heartbreaking decision of turning off her life-support machine after she was pronounced brain dead.
Last month the notoriously private star was seen leaving London`s Nobu restaurant hand-in-hand with Freya.
